Drilled, not documented A DR plan that gets run end-to-end every year — not one that lives in a binder.

Disaster recovery, built around business continuity.

Backups get you your data. DR gets you your business. When a datacenter goes offline, a region fails, or ransomware takes a whole estate down, recovery depends on an orchestrated failover that’s been tested end-to-end — not a runbook nobody’s opened in two years. We design the DR strategy, build the orchestration, run the drills, and stand beside you the day you invoke it.

Annual full-site failover drill
Orchestrated, not manual, cutover
ISO 22301 & ISO/IEC 27031 aligned
What you get

A DR program you can actually invoke.

Most DR plans fail at 2 a.m. because the doc is stale, DNS wasn’t automated, or nobody remembers who has authority to declare. Here’s what changes when the program is built to be used, not filed.

1/yr
Full-site DR drill
Annual end-to-end failover exercise with timing, evidence, and gap closure — not just a walkthrough.
<4 hr
Orchestrated failover
Tier-1 workloads recovered under four hours on warm-standby architecture; minutes on hot-site.
ISO 22301
Program alignment
Business continuity, ICT readiness, and crisis management mapped to the standards your auditors expect.
1
MSSP accountable
Design, build, drill, and invoke — one team, one contract, one bridge when it actually happens.
What's included

Twelve services, three layers.

Plan sets the targets and decisions. Implement builds the failover capability. Operate & Prove keeps it current and validates it works — annually, not hypothetically.

Plan

Targets, priorities, authority

Business Impact Analysis

Systematic BIA across business units: what breaks, what it costs per hour, what depends on what. The foundation every DR decision rests on.

RTO / RPO & Tier Design

Per-application recovery-time and recovery-point objectives, tied to business value. Tier-0 isn’t a label — it’s a signed-off commitment to budget.

DR Strategy & Architecture

Hot site, warm standby, pilot light, or backup-and-restore — matched to each workload’s tier. On-prem, cloud, hybrid, sovereign Canadian.

DR Runbook Development

Per-application, per-scenario runbooks with decision trees, invocation criteria, roles, and communication cadence. Written to be followed under pressure.

Crisis Communications Plan

Internal, customer, regulator, and media templates. Who says what, when, to whom — and who signs off. Drafted before the phone rings.

Implement

The failover capability itself

DR Site Build

Secondary site deployment across colo, public cloud, and sovereign Canadian cloud — sized to tier, and burst-capable when declared.

Stack: Azure Site Recovery, AWS Elastic DR, VMware SRM, Zerto, Veeam Replication

DR Orchestration & Automation

Scripted, repeatable failover with dependency-aware sequencing. One button instead of forty; tested in non-prod on a schedule.

Network & Identity Failover

DNS cutover, VPN and SD-WAN failover, Entra ID / AD replication, certificate continuity. The pieces nobody remembers until they’re broken.

Data Protection Integration

DR orchestration wired to your backup, replication, and immutable-storage layer — so recovery works whether the trigger is a site loss or ransomware.

Operate & Prove

Because untested DR is just paperwork

DR Drill Program

Annual full-site failover drills and quarterly partial exercises, with timing, evidence, and gap tracking. What auditors, insurers, and boards now demand.

DR Monitoring & Health

Continuous validation of replication lag, DR-site readiness, runbook drift, and automation health. Alerts before the drill surfaces the gap.

BCP Tabletop Exercises

Executive and technical tabletops across scenarios: datacenter loss, ransomware invocation, key-person unavailability, supply-chain outage. Find gaps in a conference room, not a crisis.

DR drill program

A DR plan is a theory. A drill is the proof.

The first time you run a full failover shouldn’t be the day you declare. We run annual end-to-end DR drills with full application-stack failover, user acceptance testing, and timed recovery against every stated RTO. Findings feed straight back into runbook updates — so the program compounds instead of decaying.

  • Annual full-site failover drill with cross-functional participation
  • Quarterly partial exercises for Tier-0 and Tier-1 workloads
  • Timed RTO validation with evidence packaged for auditors and insurers
  • Gap remediation tracked as program work, not ad-hoc tickets

DR event lifecycle

From invocation to failback, on one bridge.

The same disciplined sequence every DR event, every drill. No surprises on authority, communications, or sequencing — even in the worst week of your year.

  • 01Hour 0–1
Declare Invocation criteria met, authority confirmed, bridge opened. Internal, customer, and regulator communications triggered on pre-approved templates.
  • 02Hours 1–8
Failover Orchestrated cutover to DR site in dependency order. DNS, identity, and network pivots. Application-by-application validation against runbook checklists.
  • 03Days 1–30
Operate in DR Running on the DR environment with ongoing stakeholder comms, capacity management, and degraded-service tracking. Lessons captured live.
  • 04Weeks 2–8
Failback Planned, orchestrated return to primary. Data reconciliation, cutback validation, post-mortem, runbook updates, auditor evidence packaged.

Every DR event or drill is led by a named incident commander with a senior DR engineer and a comms lead on the bridge from the first minute. You get one point of accountability, not a call tree.

Deliverables per event include: invocation log, timed recovery evidence, stakeholder communications record, runbook deltas, post-mortem with remediation actions, and auditor-ready summary.

Every finding feeds the runbook library and the next drill — so the program gets stronger with every exercise, not staler.

DR strategy options

Four strategies. Matched to each workload’s value.

Hot-site for everything is a waste. Backup-and-restore for everything is a gamble. The right DR program layers strategies by tier, so you pay for speed where it earns it and sufficiency everywhere else.

Hot site

Active-active or active-passive

RTO: minutes · RPO: seconds

Live replica running in parallel, traffic-ready instantly. Trading platforms, customer-facing systems, and anything with material per-minute revenue impact.

Warm standby

Running but idle

RTO: <4 hr · RPO: <1 hr

Scaled-down replica kept current via replication, scaled up on invocation. Business-critical apps where hours of downtime is tolerable but a day is not.

Pilot light

Core only, activated on demand

RTO: <24 hr · RPO: <1 hr

Minimum-viable services running at DR site, full environment spun up on declare. Important workloads with same-day recovery needs and cost sensitivity.

Backup & restore

Restore-driven recovery

RTO: <72 hr · RPO: <24 hr

Standard backup-driven recovery to rebuilt infrastructure. Archival, dev/test, and workloads where business-day recovery is acceptable.

How we engage

Three models. Same drill discipline.

Fully managed, built-and-handed-back, or a program layer that gets a drill cadence going across what you already own. Whichever fits, DR doesn’t stay on the shelf.

Model B

DR Design & Build

Project-based BIA, tier design, DR site build, and orchestration — handed back to your internal team with trained runbooks.

  • Business impact analysis + RTO/RPO sign-off
  • DR architecture and vendor selection
  • Site build, replication, and automation setup
  • Runbook library and first drill facilitated
  • Optional 90-day hypercare
Best for: organizations with in-house DR operators needing design rigor, a vendor-neutral architecture, or a modernization milestone delivered on a schedule.
Model C

DR Drill & Advisory Program

You keep running your DR stack. We bring the drill cadence, runbook maintenance, and audit evidence.

  • Annual full-site drill + quarterly partial exercises
  • BCP tabletop exercises (executive + technical)
  • Runbook review and update cadence
  • Audit and insurer-facing evidence packaging
  • ISO 22301 / 27031 gap assessment
Best for: organizations with working DR plumbing but no formalized drill program — and an auditor, insurer, or board now asking pointed questions.

Stop hoping the runbook works. Run the drill.

A 30-minute DR readiness review: we walk through your current strategy, the last time it was tested end-to-end, and where the gaps are most likely to surface under real invocation. No deck. Just a punch list and a conversation.
